Pretty in Pearls
Sierra loves playing dress-up with her pink pearls. She can put them on and take them off all by herself and she will do just that about 50 times in a row if you let her. The other night she was walking around with no clothes and just the pearls on and I thought it was to precious to pass up, so I took a few photos. Enjoy!

12 month check-up
Here are the stats:
29" long
21.8 lbs.
18" head circ.
The doctor commented on her balance and how well she was walking. He also said she pronounces words very well and that her walking was advanced for her age. I'm very proud, but a little sad that my girl is growing so quickly.

Halloween 2006
These are my friends, Will the cowboy, Haley the ladybug, and Gracie the bab
y lady bug. We went to our church and "Trunk or Treated." I got a ton of candy that my mom will probably eat for me, but that's okay because I love her. TRICK OR TREAT! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Training for Mt. Everest
Well, my silly little girgle is learning how to climb now. I guess you could call climbing her newest adventure. Let's see . . . she climbs on stairs, toys, into cubbards, into drawers, in boxes, and on me. I'm, of course, her favorite jungle gym to climb on!

College Graduation
It's been quite a long journey but here I am at the end of the road. I started my Dental Assisting course at Apollo College June 13, 2005. That 9 month course has taken me 17 months to complete, but I did it! I perservered, gritted my teeth, and made it to my graduation ceremony on October 20, 2006. The only family I had there to see me walk on stage and grab my certificate was my daughter Sierra, but I couldn't have asked for a better audience. To tell you the truth I'm glad she was the only one, because she has an unconditional love for me that cannot be matched by anyone else. I'm not done with my schooling yet (I'm going on to become a Dental Hygienist), but I am very proud that I can say I'm a Dental Assistant!

Daycare friends
As you know, Sierra is in daycare now. When I first started taking her there she would wimper a bit and not want me to let go of her when I dropped her off. Now, she pushes away from me and waddles off to the playroom as soon as we walk in the door. Usually her little friend Alexa is there to greet us with a shrill "hi!" Sierra instantly smiles when she spots Alexa. As Sierra is walking off I usually shout out, "Bye bye!" and she turns around momentarily to wave. Every once in a while I'll bend down, put out my arms, and say "Come give me some love Sierra." Then she'll waddle over to me, throw her arms around my neck, and pop one leg in the air, then she lets go and waves goodbye as she walks off (usually with Alexa right behind her).

This is a picture of a few pictures . . . that's why it's not so good. But, a few days after Sierra's birthday I took her to Sears for a photo shoot. She totally hammed-it-up for the camera! There were so many good photos it was hard to only pick a few. I bought the above and an 8x10 for myself and few 8x10's for family.

September 11, 2006
Just a post.
I needed to say a few more things today. First, I still have my cat, Bonnie. I took her to the vet and got some Urinary Tract Infection medicine for her. He didn't really diagnose her with UTI, but he prescribed the meds anyway. (I couldn't afford the pee test she would've had to take to be diagnosed.) Anyway, I am getting the couches cleaned tomorrow and I'll have to keep the cushions off the couch until I see improvements from Bonnie.
Also, I haven't posted a lot this week because Justin took Sierra for the week. I guess that just proves that Sierra is my life and other than facts about her I have nothing to say. I guess that's not the worst thing.
Okay, that's it for today.

Daycare & the Care Bear
I know she doesn't look to happy here, but that's because she was upset that I handed her back to the daycare provided when I was suppose to be picking her up. Anyway, that is Christine, she takes care of Sierra 8-5, monday-friday now. Sierra really likes her and has a lot of fun with the other kids.

Sierra and the Care Bear are close to the same size now. Sierra had a growth spurt and I swear she grew an inch over night! Well, now she's face to face with Sunshine (the Care Bear) and she loves to bite his nose.

Cat Pee
I have never given up on a cat before...nor have I ever given one of my cats away, but I am on the verge of doing that right now! The past few weeks my cat, Bonnie, who I've had for a year now, has been peeing on my bed and couch. She pees right where I'll notice it. Cat urine has the most pungeant smell and that smell does not go away. . .even after cleaning 20 times! My entire couch is covered in cat urine! My bed has about four large cat urine spots on it. I'm calling the upholstery cleaners tomorrow and I'm driving Bonnie to the Humane Society. I'm not proud of the fact I'm giving up on a beloved family member, but I can't live this way. I actually have to sleep on my blow-up bed tonight, because my actual bed smells like urine.
Bonnie, I love you, but you're obviously not happy here, so you must GO.

On September 15th I had my last day of class for the Dental Assisting course I was taking. We had a potluck and I bought my instructor, Tiffani Sweeney some flowers. She was such a good person. I'm really glad to be done with the in-class part, but tomorrow I start interning at a dental office and I'm really nervous. I'm just afraid I'll draw a blank and not recall anything I learned and look stupid. Tomorrow is also Sierra's first day at daycare. I'm a bit emotional about that, so I'm not going to go into it right now.

Gifts
Today Sierra received two gifts from her dad, one was very practical and one was the exact opposite of practical... I'll let you guess which is which.
